Polyalgia are a frequent indication of bone scintigraphy. The diagnostic process consists in seeking the characteristic data of a pathology, clinical, biological and radiological data integration, aspect, number and location of the lesions on planar bone scintigraphy and often, accurate location and morphological aspect of each lesion on the single photon emission computerized tomography guided by computerized tomography (SPECT/CT). The various pathologies responsible for polyalgia are arbitrarily classified according to their peripheral, axial or mixed predominance and are briefly described.  相似文献

The present study was undertaken to investigate the protective effect of the filamentous cyanobacterium Spirulina platensis (S. platensis) on mercury (II) chloride (HgCl2)-induced oxidative damages and histopathological alterations in the testis of Wistar albino rats. The animals were divided into four equal groups, i ) control, ii ) HgCl2, iii ) S. platensis and iv ) combination of HgCl2+S. platensis. Oxidative stress, induced by a single dose of HgCl2 (5 mg/kg, bw; subcutaneously, s.c.), substantially decreased (P<0.01) the activity level of testicular key enzymatic antioxidant biomarkers (superoxide dismutase, SOD; catalase, CAT and glutathione peroxidase, GPx), oxidative stress makers (blood hydroperoxide; testicular reduced glutathione, GSH and malondialdehyde, MDA), and testicular mercury levels. Moreover, HgCl2 administration resulted in a significant (P<0.01) increase in the number of sperms with abnormal morphology and decrease in epididymal sperm count, motility, plasma testosterone level and testicular cholesterol. Furthermore, HgCl2 exposure induced histopathological changes to the testis including morphological alterations of the seminiferous tubules, and degeneration and dissociation of spermatogenic cells. Notably, oral pretreatment of animals with Spirulina (300 mg/kg, bw) lowered the extent of the observed HgCl2-mediated toxicity, whereby significantly reducing the resulting lipid peroxidation products, mercury accumulation in the testis, histopathological changes of the testes and spermatozoal abnormalities. In parallel, the pretreatment with Spirulina also completely reverted the observed Hg-Cl2-induced inhibition in enzymatic activities of antioxidant biomarkers (SOD, CAT and GPx) back to control levels. The pretreatment of rats with S. platensis significantly recovered the observed HgCl2-mediated decrease in the weight of accessory sex organs. Taken together, our findings clearly highlight the role of S. platensis as a protective modulator of HgCl2-induced testicular injuries and suggest some therapeutic potential in mammals. Further investigation of therapeutic strategies employing Spirulina against heavy metals toxicity in humans is therefore warranted.  相似文献

CD154 (CD40 ligand) is a type II transmembrane protein that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor superfamily. The soluble form of CD154 (sCD154), which results from the shedding of membrane-bound CD154, plays a key role in the production of proinflammatory cytokines and has been linked to various autoimmune and vascular disorders. Therefore, elucidating the mechanisms by which CD154 is released from the cell surface following its interaction with its various receptors is of primordial importance. Using co-culture experiments, we show that CD154 is shed predominantly upon its engagement with CD40. Indeed, only CD40 (both membrane-bound and soluble) and not α5β1 or αMβ2 is involved in the cleavage and release of CD154 from Jurkat E6.1 T-cells. Interestingly, CD154 is cleaved independently of the formation of cell surface CD40 homodimers and independently of its association into lipid rafts. In contrast, we found that the protein kinase C (PKC) signaling family and the matrix metalloproteinases ADAM10 and ADAM17 are intimately involved in this process. In conclusion, our data indicate that CD154 is released from T-cells by ADAM10 and ADAM17 upon CD40 ligation. These findings add significant insights into the mechanisms by which CD154 is down-regulated and may lead to the generation of novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of CD154-associated disorders.  相似文献

Most previous studies of maternal cytokines and preterm birth have analyzed immunologic biomarkers after the onset of labor or membrane rupture; fewer have examined the systemic (blood) immune response prior to labor onset. We carried out a case–control study nested in a large (n = 5337) prospective, multi-center cohort. Cohort women had an interview, examination, and venipuncture at 24–26 weeks. Frozen plasma samples in women with spontaneous preterm birth (n = 207) and approximately 2 term controls per case (n = 444) were analyzed using Luminex multianalyte profiling technology. Fresh placentas were fixed, stained, and blindly assessed for histologic evidence of infection/inflammation, decidual vasculopathy, and infarction, and vaginal swabs were analyzed for bacterial vaginosis and fetal fibronectin concentration. High maternal matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) concentration, but none of the other cytokines or C-reactive protein (CRP), was significantly associated with spontaneous preterm birth [adjusted OR = 1.7 (1.1–2.4)] and showed a dose–response relation across quartiles. No association was observed, however, between maternal MMP-9 and placental infection/inflammation, bacterial vaginosis, or vaginal fetal fibronectin concentration. Our results require confirmation in future studies but suggest that a systemic immune response implicating MMP-9 may have an etiologic role in spontaneous preterm birth.  相似文献

Macrofungi have important functions in forest ecosystems. It is essential to have information about these species to ensure proper management of such ecosystems. Due to the importance of forestry in Tunisia and the lack of information on fungal communities, this study was conducted in North Western of Tunisia. The objective was to enumerate macrofungal diversity in relation to various environmental factors. In total, 158 fruiting bodies were collected and 60 species were identified. Among them, 39 species are mycorrhizal. A fruiting body is the first visible appearance of the spore‐bearing surface until its disintegration. More fruiting bodies were found on the eastern slopes than on the western slopes. This reflects the distribution of tree species and soil type. Almost all fungal species were collected from soils of moderate acidity (pH 4–pH 5), 5 species from soils with low acidity (pH 5–pH 6.8), and only 3 species from soils with high acidity (pH < 4). The majority of fruiting bodies occurred in soils with a percentage of organic matter ranging from 1 to 5 and a phosphorus content ranging from 15.1 to 20 ppm.  相似文献
